Maruti Suzuki was founded on February 24, 1981, to manufacture cars for middle-class Indians. The company was established as a government company called Maruti Udyog Ltd. With Suzuki as its minor partner. Maruti Udyog later signed a joint venture agreement with Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, which began a long-lasting and successful partnership.
Maruti 800 was the first car it launched . Since it was affordable back then, it was extremely popular. Until today, this model of Maruti remains a classic.In the Indian context, they were successful in launching cars with excellent features at a budget-friendly price, making them ‘people’s cars’. Until today, the company’s cars are known to date to be within the price range of a middle-class buyer.
