Neha Kakkar belongs to a small town and middle class family. Her father was a samosa seller. Started singing at the age of 4 to earn money. She has never had any formal training for her singing.

Once she was rejected in a Reality Show ”Indian Idol”. She started singing on albums. Her break through was when she got to collaborate with Pritam for the movie Cocktail. After that, there was no looking back. And Now she is judge of”Indian Idol” Show.
