The actor was born in Gurgaon, India, in a lower-middle-class family. He came to explore his passion for acting when he actively participated in plays during his school time. Rajkummar started his acting career in 10th grade with theatre. He completed his graduation in 2008 from Film and Television Institute and then shifted to Mumbai to try his foot in the Bollywood industry. After shifting to Mumbai, according to the reports, Rajkummar almost spent a year and a half visiting studios and meeting directors. He finally got his big break in the movie Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010. He is appreciated for many Bollywood movies like Kai Po Che, Shahid, Queen, Bareilly ki barfi, Stree, and many more.

His journey in Bollywood has been surreal and rewarding but not without its share of challenges. The actor said his late mother’s faith in him kept him going even on days when he had nothing when he moved to Mumbai from Gurgaon to chase his passion. At present, Rajkummar is the busiest actor in B-town and he has back-to-back film releases. He is the recipient of several awards including the National Film Award, three Filmfare awards, and the Asia Pacific screen award.
